Instagram Story Downloader
Public stories, saved before the 24-hour clock runs out.
Stories disappear twenty-four hours after they are posted, which is exactly why people want to keep them. This page saves the underlying photo or video from a public story while it is still live.
The important limit: public accounts only. If an account is private, or the story went out to a Close Friends list, it is not publicly reachable and this tool will not fetch it — nor should any tool claim to. That would require accessing an account you have no permission to access.
Once a story has expired it is gone from the public timeline. If the person moved it to a Highlight, though, it is still reachable — use the Highlights page for that.
How it works
- 01 Open the story View the story on the web at instagram.com. Each story frame has its own address containing the account name and a long number.
- 02 Copy that address Copy the full URL from the browser bar and paste it into the box above.
- 03 Save the frame Press Download to keep the photo or video from that frame.
Questions
Will they know I saved it?
Instagram shows account owners who viewed a story. Viewing the story is what registers — this tool does not add a separate notification, but it also does not hide the view you already made.
Can I save a story from a private account?
No. Private stories are not publicly accessible and downloading them would mean accessing an account without permission. This tool does not do that.
The story already expired. Can I still get it?
Not from the story itself. Check whether the account saved it to a Highlight, which stays up indefinitely.
Why does the link look so long?
Each story frame has a unique numeric ID in its address. That number is how the right frame is identified, so copy the whole thing.
